Honig

Honey from Sardinia
Jar with 250 gr Corbezzolo honey
The bitter-sweet strawberry tree honey is produced in autumn. The bees depend on the flowers of the strawberry tree (corbezzolo) at this time of year because there are no other flowers. The result is this honey, bitter taste, good against cough but also supporting a good sleep. The honey crystallises immediately after extraction and is only sold in this state. The colour is light beige, the flavour aromatic and somewhat reminiscent of nuts.
The honey is said to soothe coughs, helps to fall asleep and is also considered an aphrodisiac in Sardinia.

It goes wonderfully with cream cheese, ricotta and various desserts. Even Cicero is said to have tasted honey during his exile in Sardinia.

Honey of Thistles jar 500g
This thistle honey comes from the hills of Gallura from different species of wild thistles. They bloom in early spring and, with late rains, even in early summer. Therefore, the honey has a high density and an intense flavour typical of this flowering period. It is probably the most characteristic Sardinian honey and is much sought after and appreciated by customers because of its distinctive taste.

Lavender Honey, 500g
This lavender honey comes from the hills of Gallura. The wild lavender makes an important contribution and is completely different from the honey obtained from cultivated lavender. Thus, the honey is distinguished by its high fructose content, which allows it to maintain its liquid phase for a long time.
The honey is mild, bright in colour and very suitable for sensitive palates, including those of children.

This honey comes from the hills of Gallura, where there is practically no intensive agriculture, no industry, no busy roads and few human settlements. The main contribution to this honey comes from wild lavender, asphodel, heather, wild clover, rockrose and a variety of wild thistles. The flavour can change somewhat from year to year, although it retains its characteristic aroma. The honey is golden yellow to amber, the smell is delkat and slightly fruity. The taste is sweet, the aroma fine and flowery.
