Pane Carasau & Guttiau
Pane Carasau & Guttiau are typical Sardinian flatbreads made by shepherds. They are made only with durum wheat semolina, water, yeast, and salt. For Pane Guttiau, olive oil is also added. Making Pane Carasau and Guttiau requires skill and expertise. Our ovens do not have the scorching hot stone or brick floor of traditional Sardinian wood-fired ovens, which causes the flatbread to immediately inflate like a balloon. This is why most attempts to make it in a regular oven fail.
