Oltremare, Rosso dei Colli del Limbara IGT

Oltremare is a rounded, elegant wine from Berchidda (Olbia Tempio) in the Monte Acuto region of Sardinia. It is composed of 30-40% Merlot, 30-40% Cabernet Franc, 10-15% Carignano, and 10-15% Muristellu. The wine grows on granitic disintegration soils and is cultivated using Guyot and modified bush training methods. The Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters, supports an annual production of 1,300 bottles on 5,000 m². Harvesting is done manually from September to October, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine ages for 18 months in Allier oak barrels and an additional six months in the bottle. Oltremare features a garnet red color with violet reflections and a bouquet of blackberry jam, red berries, undergrowth, and menthol notes. Served at 14-18°C, it pairs perfectly with grilled meats, wild boar, goat, spicy dishes, and semi-mature cheeses.
