In Sardinia, the "Pirastru" tree has always been highly regarded, as almost everything was utilized from this tree: the excellent wood, the bark, and especially the wild fruits, which were used to make an exceptionally delicious and unique jam. In autumn, when the wild pears were fully ripe, they were harvested and immediately processed to preserve the natural taste and color of these extraordinary fruits.
