Cantina Argiolas
Antonio Argiolas, a man from Serdiana, a small village 20 kilometers away from Cagliari, made a bold decision at the beginning of the 20th century: to invest in the wines of his homeland. At that time, he owned only a three-hectare estate inherited from his father. It was on this estate that he planted his first vineyard and allowed his ideas to grow and mature. Alongside his wife Bonaria and his family, he held a deep love for the land, inherited from the agricultural world in which he was raised. However, he felt confined by the boundaries set by prickly pear hedges and sought ways to guide his visions and decisions.
Despite campaigns to eradicate vineyards, Antonio Argiolas resisted the pressure. He frequently crossed the seas to reach new continents, gathering successful experiences. In 1979, already an established local entrepreneur, he embarked on journeys to Argentina and California. These travels were profound inspirations for him, marking the start of a revolution. They revealed to him the necessity of transcending land divisions and employing technologically advanced machinery for the cultivation of larger, single-owned estates.
As a result, he acquired the Selegas-Sa Tanca and Sisini lands, the most extensive properties of the Cantina. These lands are the places from which Argiolas wines speak, serving as symbols of the strength, courage, and foresight of his vision. Antonio Argiolas' vision and passion for the land continue to live on in the wines of Argiolas, paying homage to Sardinia's heritage.
