Arruga Carignano del Sulcis Superiore

The Arruga Superiore from the renowned Sardus Pater Winery is a powerful red wine made from 100% Carignano grapes grown on the island of Sant’Antioco. The old vines, averaging 80 years and rooted in sandy soils near the sea, give this wine remarkable depth and character.

In the glass, it shows a rich ruby red color with dark hues. The nose is complex, revealing intense Mediterranean scrub aromas, along with notes of wild berries and juniper. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-balanced, with smooth tannins, elegant spicy and balsamic nuances, and a long, persistent finish.

The careful vinification process includes 15 days of skin maceration, followed by aging in barriques and tonneaux and further refinement in the bottle, resulting in a structured and refined wine with excellent aging potential.
