The Cannonau Nepente di Oliena presents itself in the glass with a dark garnet-red color and hints of orange. Its aroma captivates with notes of wild berries, licorice, spices, black, and Chinese pepper. It impresses in the finish with its freshness and a very long finale. On the palate, it is full-bodied, tannic, and slightly balsamic. This traditional representative of Sardinian wine culture is one of the most beautiful red wines of the island, with its robust to powerful yet always amiable and likable character. The most famous Cannonau in the old Sil is the one from Oliena near Nuoro in the eastern part of the island, known as Nepente di Oliena.
