Rosso Smeraldo, Colli Del Limbara I.G.T.
Rosso dei Colli del Limbara IGT is a warm, intense wine from Berchidda (Olbia Tempio) in the Limbara region, Monte Acuto, Sardinia.
It evokes red fruits and has a long, aromatic finish with notes of myrtle and a hint of licorice.
The wine grows on granitic disintegration soils and is cultivated using the Guyot and modified bush training methods.
The grape varieties include 50-60% Carignano, 15% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Muristellu, and 5% Sangiovese Grosso.
The Mediterranean conditions allow for a production of 6,800 bottles per hectare.
Manual harvesting begins in September, followed by gentle pressing and controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
The wine ages for several months on fine lees before being blended and bottled in May.
Rosso dei Colli del Limbara features an amaranth red color and an elegant bouquet with notes of plums, blueberries, red fruits, graphite, and herbs.
The recommended serving temperature is 18°C. It pairs perfectly with grilled red meat, wild boar, goat, spicy dishes, and semi-mature cheeses.
Contains sulfites.
