Naramae Cannonau di Sardegna DOC Riserva is a premium 100% Cannonau red wine and the worthy heir of the award-winning Cannonau Riserva (3 Glasses – Gambero Rosso, vintage 2016). It represents the true soul of Sardinia: powerful, elegant and deeply expressive.
The grapes come from a single selected vineyard in Jerzu, located in hilly terrain with granite and clay-alluvial soils. The vines are over 40 years old, and the hot, arid climate combined with low yields (40–50 quintals per hectare) ensures remarkable concentration and quality.
After hand harvesting, the grapes undergo temperature-controlled fermentation with 14 days of maceration in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 12–14 months in second and third passage barriques, then refined in steel and bottle.
In the glass, Naramae shows a ruby red color with light garnet reflections.
The bouquet is intense and complex, featuring ripe red fruit, Mediterranean scrub notes and delicate hints of Helichrysum, complemented by subtle toasted oak and vanilla nuances.
On the palate, it is dry, warm and velvety, with balanced structure and long, silky tannins. A full-bodied, persistent and elegant Cannonau with excellent aging potential.
Perfect with aged Pecorino cheese, game, lamb, beef and hearty meat dishes.
